Sketch Still

Sketch Still is a collection of works by artist Layla Clarke. Her work explores the quiet intensity of observation through fine art portraiture and illustrative drawing. 
Her graphite portraits capture stillness, presence and psychological depth, often blurring the line between realism and introspection. 

Clarke is also an illustrator focused mainly on machinery, vehicles, military subjects and the human relationship with technology. In contrast to the figurative traditional style pieces her illustrations are gritty inky and bold works. 

She currently lives and works in Wiltshire where she also teaches art.
